In May 2013, alittlemassage was founded and initially only offered Holistic Massage. As the years passed, more courses were attended starting with Sports Massage, Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, Integrated Manual Therapy and Orthopedic Massage. In addition, Active Isolated Stretching techniques have been integrated as a part of the aftercare. As the business has evolved over the years, the one goal has always been: To apply an effective range of therapeutic disciplines to evaluate and treat the client.

In September 2013 I took my first class in Anatomy & Physiology. As I sat in class wondering: “What have I gotten myself into?” it slowly began to dawn on me that there was a lot more to massage than I had originally thought. Massage, I thought, was simply kneading the muscles and soft tissues of the body as a complementary treatment for medical conditions, injuries and/or wellness maintenance. I just knew massage helped keep us healthy and connected. Our everyday lives, like everyone else’s, had become so stressful as we became disconnected from our environment, travelled to and from work and school, and pressure was applied to family life as each element competed for time and space in the schedule. However, over the past few years, I have seen firsthand how regular massage can immediately benefit our health, emotionally, mentally and physically. Now, more than ever, it is time to promote the benefits of regular massage as touch therapy.
