Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue work aims to affect the deepest levels of muscles and fascia in the body by applying forces such as compression, gliding and rotation.

All massage improves blood and lymph circulation in the body thus improving the delivery of nutrients and oxygen and the removal of waste and carbon dioxide. Deep tissue massage aims to do all this and make muscles more supple and mobile. Deep tissue work can help to reduce stiffness and loosen adhesions thus improving general flexibility and muscle tone. Clients who would benefit most from this type of massage may be clients whose muscles have experienced injury, immobilization, overuse and/or underuse. The techniques involved in deep tissue massage involve pulling, pushing, stretching, releasing tension, interrupting the pain-spasm-pain cycle and targeting areas of latent pain/discomfort. Swelling and discomfort are common before/during/after a deep massage treatment and it is very important to drink water BOTH before and after a deep tissue massage session. This type of massage is generally more therapeutic than relaxing.
